Loam. is a ceramic work space, learning place and ceramics store situated in Moabit, Berlin.
After the Co-founders Juliet and Kelly have moved back to their home countries, Loam. continues to contribute to the rich ceramics community in Berlin under the management of Jana.

Jana Marlene Lippert is a Berlin-born Product Designer who enjoys to be exposed and influenced by different cultures, backgrounds and experiences. Questioning existing orders and ways of thinking is a quality deriving from her multidisciplinary interests and examination of the surrounding world.
Empathy and intuition lead her to create sensual objects that trigger the wish for interaction.

She creates delicate and colourful porcelain pieces. Tactility plays an important role, their unglazed, velvety surface and bowl-like shape asking to be held with both hands.

Her other specialism are large coiled Vases. The folds and bumps remind of bodies, detailed closeups, but never become literal. In support of the natural, organic shapes she focuses on the stoney origins and properties of stoneware, leaving the surfaces rough and unglazed.
The topic of bodies and natural forces, whether they are found in materials, their creation or neurologic phenomenons such as sleep are ongoing interests of hers.

She has spent time in Italy, Argentina, Mexico, Israel and graduated from the Masters Programme Product Design at ECAL, Lausanne.
